Sigma Test Fast

Sigma Test Fast (STF) is the ideal test for those who want to obtain a quick, precise, and reliable evaluation of their intellectual level directly from home, with an immediate report issued after completing the questions.

Different people have varied motivations when seeking IQ tests. Some enjoy the intellectual challenge, others wish to satisfy their curiosity, many pursue self-knowledge, while others see these tests as an intellectual and cultural exercise. For those who especially value the intellectual challenge and entertainment, dedicating weeks to complex questions can be highly rewarding. However, for people who mainly want to quickly know their IQ for self-knowledge or curiosity, the need to spend weeks or months solving questions is neither practical nor desirable.

We know that there are individuals passionate about logic and reasoning tests—some members of high IQ societies end up taking hundreds of them throughout their lives, like our member Andrew Hayles, who has already solved more than 400 tests. However, most people seek simplicity, practicality, and speed, preferring to take a single test with a maximum duration of two hours (preferably in less than one hour), without having to leave home.

Currently, many online tests promise to meet this demand, but the vast majority face serious issues regarding the standardization and precision of results. A few historical exceptions were the old Nicholas–Elena Test and the tests from the International High IQ Society, which were highly successful in the early 20th century but are no longer available.

To fill this gap, the Sigma Test Fast (STF) was developed. It is a sophisticated psychometric instrument composed of 40 questions, with a 40-minute time limit. Using advanced Item Response Theory (IRT) techniques and other modern methods, the STF provides highly precise scores on a proportional scale, meeting the most rigorous scientific criteria for validation and standardization.

STF: Above the Gold Standard

Although established tests like the WAIS are widely recognized as the “gold standard” in cognitive assessment, they have important limitations in their construction—especially regarding construct validity, that is, their ability to correctly measure what they propose: intelligence. For example, subtests that assess specific information or knowledge are not necessarily adequate indicators of intelligence.

STF addresses these issues by eliminating subtests that do not directly contribute to assessing overall intellectual ability (the g factor), focusing specifically on questions that require logical reasoning, abstraction, and problem-solving—skills that are truly representative of intelligence.

It is suitable for an adult IQ range of 80 to 145.

STF focuses precisely on the fundamental aspects, which are:

  1. Questions with varied and appropriate levels of difficulty.

  2. High construct validity at all evaluated levels.

  3. A wide variety of questions strongly saturated by the general intelligence factor (g).

  4. Rigorously reviewed answer keys, with unique and well-founded responses.

  5. A rigorous process of standardization and validation.

This makes the STF a unique instrument in many respects, as it prioritizes what truly matters while streamlining and simplifying the process, allowing remote evaluations in less than 40 minutes with automatic report issuance, without the need to wait days or weeks for the result.
